MLSN Critical Crackdown Series 2024: A Policy Case Competition is a new flagship event organised by the Sub-Department of Legal Insight & Opinion Series(LIOS), in conjunction with relevant NGOs, youth institutions, student associations and political players. 

To foster comprehensive legal education, LIOS is extending its purview beyond the confines of the legal sector and embrace the incorporation of public policy drafting. Our goal is to equip law students with a nuanced perspective on Malaysia’s societal landscape. A profound engagement with public policy instils a contextual comprehension of contemporary challenges that Malaysia is facing. These challenges, whether economic, social, or political, form the crucible through which Malaysia shapes its future. With an appreciation of the intricacies of such obstacles, we aim to empower law students, as future leaders, to contribute meaningfully to the resolution of social justice issues and the overarching development of a sustainable and prosperous Malaysia.

MLSN Critical Crackdown Series 2024 centred around the theme “Critical Crackdown: Fostering Malaysia’s National Unity”. This initiative, which spans across 3 months, will unfold in multiple stages, progressing from Stage 1 to Stage 4, ultimately culminating in a final policy pitching competition. Throughout these stages, an article writing competition, a panel discussion and a webinar will be conducted based on the aforementioned theme, contributing to the comprehensive nature of this initiative.
